Additional access control was provided using the student cards provided by the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. These cards are magnetic stripe technology and are simply read by insertion into the same coding unit that delivers the transient parking ticket. |

 | Exit Lane #1 The SKIDATA Exit Column provides a means of egress to a transient parker. The transient parker simply inserts the ticket into the coding unit throat. The coder determines amount due, deducts any validations issued by a tenant and then displays total amount. The transaction is then completed using a credit card and a receipt is issued to the parker. An integrated SKIDATA proximity card reader and intercom are also included in this column. for monthly parker use and customer assistance. |

 | Exit Lane #2 (Monthly Only) PROTECTIONTECH designed this custom intercom housing with an internal SKIDATA proximity card reader. |

 | Multiple Technology Reader & Credit Card Payment StationTechnologies included are proximity, magnetic stripe and barcode. This device also functions as a credit card payment device when installed in an entry or exit lane. In this application this unit was used as an after-hours entry reader for a pedestrian access door to the parking garage. Not only can a monthly parker gain access into the garage using their SKIDATA proximity card but a transient parker can use an unpaid parking ticket as access to the garage. This ticket is validated and removed from the system after transaction completion. |

 | Booth CT (Cashiering Terminal)This is a machine readable system that allows for cashiered assisted transaction completion. Coding unit (shown to left of computer, blue) accepts ticket, calculates fee, accepts credit card transactions and provides receipt. Coding unit is also used to program the SKIDATA proximity card. |

 | PARCS Central Management ComputerAll programming, report generation and control of the SKIDATA Parking, Access and Revenue Control system can be completed here or at the Booth CT. This computer is connected to an online, real time, credit card clearinghouse computer utilizing the parking offices standard DSL connectivity as means of transaction processing. All credit card information may be viewed with proper log-on password from anywhere web access is provided. |
