The model 1838 access controller is ideal for small businesses, office buildings, factories, industrial sites, apartment complexes, or for any application that requires access control and reporting capabilities. The 1838 is a 2-door controller that can easily expand to control up to 16 individual doors. This flexible system allows you to control access by means of encoded cards, five-digit PINs (personal identification number), wireless RF control, or with almost any 26-bit Weigand device. NoteIf the 1838 access controller is sharing database files with other DKS 1838 controllers or telephone entry systems (1833, 1835 or 1837 only), you must match the memory size of the 1838 with the memory installed in the system that you are going to share files with. Otherwise you will not be able to share files.
